Whether its spending his day exploring the wonders of the ocean, sipping on a good brew, or enjoying the simplicity of family fun filled days, The Tweed has an abundance of 'dad-friendly' activities to discover while you’re staying with us on The Tweed this Father’s Day.

Here are our top 6.

  • Encounter The Big 3 of the Sea: Whale, Dolphin and Turtle Tour

Impress Dad this Father’s Day with a journey of discovery of the underworld.  For over 10 years Watersports Guru have been offering guests intimate experiences to Snorkel with the Turtles, Whale watch with Humpbacks and have close encounters with our local in-shore bottle nose dolphin.  Well now you can combine all these tours into one epic adventure as the Big 3 of the Sea brings together the rare opportunity to get up close and personal with whales, dolphins and turtles, in under 3 hours!

  • Father’s Day Tweed River Cruise

Rather be on top of the water?  Why not take Dad on a Tweed River Cruise with Tweed Escapes.  Enjoy a relaxing Rainforest Cruise along the Tweed River with Tweed Escapes. Explore the waterways while learning about the region’s unique history and culture this Father’s Day. Want to captain your own adventure? Hire a BBQ pontoon boat and explore the riverways at your own pace.

  • Family Fun at Hosanna Farmstay

Dad and the whole family will love a day out at Hosanna Farmstay.  Hosanna Farmstay is all about celebrating good old-fashioned fun with an immersive experience in nature and farm life.  Go for a kayak and a swim in the nearby dam, explore the creek, conquer the waterslide or head out on one of the walking trails around the farm. Don’t miss the farm tour which is a good-old-fashioned hay bale ride that gets you up close and personal with the farm animals where the kids will love getting involved in feeding the animals. Bring your picnic blankets, camp chairs and your beers, and they’ll take care of the rest. It’s the perfect place to relax and disconnect from busy routines and enjoy time with family, friends, and nature, in a gorgeous rural farm.

  • Visit A Local Brewery

The Tweed is home to some seriously urban and fashionable creative young craft brewers and hip distillers.  If you’re dad loves a fresh, frothy cold one by the Coast, or sipping on craft gin and superb Agricole rum followed up with an engaging distillery tour, then he will be spoilt for choice.  Check out our blog where we take a peek at The Tweeds local breweries and distillers here…

  • Explore The Northern Rivers Rail Trail

Take to the Tweed tracks of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail to breathe in nature, explore country towns and immerse in the richness of our valley life. Along the 24km trail you’ll pass by working farms, be embraced by lush rainforest, cross over wide bridges and navigate original train tunnels.  Bike hire, including e-bikes, is easy with cycle hubs at each end of the Tweed trail, in Mooball and Murwillumbah.

Visit the official Northern Rivers Rail Trail website here to plan your trail.
