Minyon FallsMinyon Falls – Nightcap National Park
9km | Moderate | 2hrs 32mins

Minyon falls lie on the edge on an old volcano and are located in sub-tropical rainforest in the stunning Nightcap National Park, and on the doorstep of our holiday parks!  The falls plunge more than 100 meters over jagged cliffs to the pools below.  There are two lookouts, and from the lookout platforms you can admire not only the falls themselves but also the valley beneath, and on a clear day you might be lucky and see all the way out to the coast.  However, neither showcase the whole 100m high cascade - for that you need to head down to the bottom, an excellent walk for short hike enthusiasts, or for families.  Only an hours drive from our Pottsville North and Pottsville South Holiday Parks, plus easy parking and grassed picnic areas, the falls make for a really great day trip.

Hells holeHells Hole - Mount Jerusalem National Park
1km | Moderate | 1.5 hour

Don’t be fooled by the name, Hell’s Hole Falls in Mount Jerusalem National Park is a breathtaking destination just over an hour’s drive from our Kingscliff Beach and Kingscliff North holiday Parks, near the township of Uki.  This untouched haven is a secret spot to most, not even many locals know about it.  It is a series of deep rock pools linked by small waterfalls before the creek plunges over the cliff into the Tweed Valley.  A place for a cooling swim, picnic and to enjoy the tranquillity of the surroundings. It is rumoured that the waters of the rock pools contain a natural hair conditioner that lasts for weeks.

Cougal CascadesCougal Cascades – Currumbin Valley
3.2km | Easy | 1 hour

Just half an hour's drive from our Tweed Heads holiday park, this natural attraction is just as much about the journey as the destination.  Rolling through Currumbin Valley under the impressive sheer cliffs of Mt Cougal is captivating in itself.  The 1.6 kilometre return walking track starts straight from the car park and is sealed the entire way. It’s slightly hilly in parts, and suitable for most ages and abilities.  The walk is short, easy and definitely packs a punch in terms of scenery.  The track winds through subtropical rainforest alongside the gently flowing Currumbin Creek with viewing platforms along the way to soak up the ambience and watch the Cougal Cascades, plunge spectacularly down the cliff face into a large pool below.   There’s also an array of bird and animal life, including kookaburras, whipbirds and the land mullet (which is really a lizard).  At the top of your walk you will come across a disused 1940’s-era partially restored sawmill.  If you are looking for a day of epic waterfalls, swimming in rockpools & the awe of nature, you’ll find it here.

Tweed Holiday Parks is the ideal base from which to explore the spectaular waterfalls in the Tweed Region, and the best time to see waterfalls is after high rainfall.  With the wetter than average summer we have been experiencing, these natural wonders will be abundently flowing, so now is the perfect time to book your stay!
