We’re are very spoilt on The Tweed to be close by to World Heritage-listed National Parks, one of our favourites is Lamington National Park.
From the moment you leave our holiday parks you are greeted with stunning views, winding roads and ‘rainforest tunnels’ all the way to the entrance of the skywalk.
High within the treetops of Lamington National Park, you will find a breathtaking walk – Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk, a breathtaking 1.5km return trek with a combination of forest floor trails, steel bridges through the highest points of the canopy and a long cantilever bridge with a viewing platform that offers breathtaking views of Cedar Creek and luscious rainforest... 30 metres above the ground – we dare you to look down!
If you enjoy bird watching, we recommend completing this walk in the early morning or late afternoon.
It’s easy to spend most of the day at Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk, with a Rainforest Eco Gallery which showcases local rainforest animals, birds and reptiles as well as information panels about Australian local and indigenous history.
After going for your adventure through the treetops, sit back and relax with a well-deserved beverage and decadent cake – they have a great selection, and they all look too good to eat!
Take home a memento from the gift shop located next to their café – stocked with a variety of souvenirs including rainforest education books, clothing, magnets and giftware’s – you are bound to find yourself or someone back the perfect present.
Family admission tickets are available and the walk can be accessed every day from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (last walk at 4:00 PM). Be sure to #tweedholidayparks in your pictures so we can see you enjoying this ‘must-do’ activity.
