Tweed Holiday Parks Tweed Heads has been shortlisted as an industry award finalist in the Holiday Park of the Year Award (more than 100 sites) category at the 2019 Caravan and Camping Industry Association (CCIA) Awards of Excellence, which will be hosted on the 7th of November at the Sofitel Darling Harbour, Sydney.
These awards are one of the most exciting and anticipated events for our industry, it is where the achievements and successes of industry members are celebrated and we are so excited to be a part of it. This is the first nomination for our Tweed Heads Park.
We reached out to Tweed Heads Park Manager, Angela Hodge for her comments on the nomination, We are honoured to be selected for an award of this status and to be amongst parks of high calibre from around the State.
There is a lot to celebrate this year for Tweed Holiday Parks Tweed Heads. Earlier this year, they completed a $1.5M makeover over a four-month period, which included eight new relocatable cabins, an accessible cabin, two pre-existing refurbished cabins and the introduction of a waterfront barbeque shelter, as well as updating the foreshore area with new turf and landscaping.
Tweed Holiday Parks Unit Coordinator, Andrew Illingworth, comments on the transformation, We really wanted to make the best use of the natural environment we are in and the gorgeous view over Terranora Creek. It was about modernising our waterfront cabins and improving the standard of the cabin accommodation to not only capture a new market but also meet what the market expectations are for onsite accommodation in a modern Holiday Park.
Park Manager, Angela Hodge adds, The feedback has been really positive. Everyone is enjoying the new look down at the foreshore. Our guests are enjoying cooking with a view at the new waterfront barbeque shelter.
Did you know, earlier this year, Tweed Shire Council changed the name of Tweed Coast Holiday Parks to Tweed Holiday Parks to reflect the future direction for this growing community enterprise? This also saw other name changes andBoyds Bay' becameTweed Heads'.
Park Manager Angela Hodge continues, We are so proud of our Holiday Park's achievements this year and can't wait to see what the CCIA Awards night brings later this year. Our fingers and toes are all crossed!
Tweed Heads is known as a holiday destination for families, couples and groups looking to enjoy a relaxing coastal getaway. It has a year-round temperate climate and is situated along the Terranora Creek within walking distance to beaches, Tweed Heads CBD and just 10 minutes from Coolangatta International Airport. It features its own saltwater lagoon and private in-park boat ramp and fishing table.
Visitors can relax at our shaded picnic benches in the sheltered recreation area while watching the children play in the playground and splash around in the year-round temperature-controlled swimming pool, which boasts an impressive waterslide and a sheltered pool lounge area.
Cross your fingers and wish us luck!
