Did you know, there are more artists per capita living in the Tweed than in any other Australian town?  It’s no wonder the Tweed is thriving with arts and cultural centres.  Like The Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre, our signature space set high over picture-perfect green rolling hills and delivering constantly changing inspiration in its six exhibition spaces and a breathtaking homage to Margaret Olley, one of Australia’s most-loved artists.  So it’s easy to get a fix of the arts whether you’re viewing, learning or purchasing a take-home piece.  Shop till you drop…or meander and mingle at the local markets

The Tweed coast has a few mainstream chain stores and a host of glitzy luxury boutiques that will have the visitor leave having experienced true retail theraoy.  However, the true retail charm lies in the eclectic fashion, homewares and gift stores. You will also find an array of local markets where there is an emphasis on locally made products and the vibe is friendly and relaxed.  Here you’ll find plenty of locals up for a chat.  But if you are looking for the retail stores, you’ll find them just a short drive and all on the doorstep of our holiday parks.
